Donations in Action: Participant & Volunteer Stories
I have been an Oasis member for 20+ years. I attribute my good health to the many Oasis wellness/fitness classes I take. I’ve met lifelong friends through Oasis and I feel I matter because of my Oasis volunteer work.
When I was getting ready to retire, I began looking for a way to keep physically and mentally alert as well as socially connected. Little did I know Oasis would offer this and so much more. What began as a few exercise and wellness classes, quickly became a gateway to lifelong learning, meaningful friendships, and exciting travel. Through diverse classes, cultural outings and travel opportunities, Oasis enriches lives—fostering health, purpose, and connection. With its dedicated staff and welcoming environment, Oasis is a vital community resource.
I promote Oasis everywhere I go. I have been an Oasis volunteer for over 20 years. I have volunteered in several areas, but the most rewarding has been planning the monthly Day Trips for the Oasis catalog. When members sign up for Day Trips, it lets them go places they wouldn’t go on their own and also lets people make new friends.
